2nd Annual UCSF-Showa University Medical Education Symposium
On November 5, Showa University and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) co-sponsored a “Medical Education Symposium” that was held online and live. This symposium studied the know-how of early clinical training at UCSF, which is famous for its advanced medical education curriculum, and considered its dissemination in Japan. 7 guest speakers from UCSF were invited and there were approximately 180 participants throughout Japan, including medical educators and those responsible for clinical training at teaching hospitals.
The symposium started with an address from Dr. Hisamitsu, President of Showa University. Then, the efforts and issues of our university’s new medical curriculum was introduced by Professor Miki Izumi (Department of Medical Education). Finally, lectures were given by the guest speakers at UCSF.
